The President Consults Senators, Gets Closer To Naming Next Supreme Court Nominee.

President Bush is expected to make the final decision on his next nomination to the Supreme Court as early as today, according to White House press secretary Scott McClellan. The President has consulted nearly 70 Senators on the matter, including 17 of the 18 on the Judiciary Committee, reports the Washington Post today.

“We have been listening to the views and ideas of members of the Senate, and the president will take those into account as he makes a decision about who should fill that vacancy,” said McClellan.
